World Urban Forum – Medellin, Colombia

Geoff was invited to represent the Building and Social Housing Forum, UK at the World Urban Forum. WUF7, in Medellin. Geoff is a trustee of the Foundation and was asked to announce the winners of the 2013/2014 World Habitat Awards at the closing ceremony. He also gave the closing comments to a networking session organised by the Foundation on scaling up innovative approaches to housing. While in Medellin, Geoff visited the Occidental settlement on a hill overlooking Medellin city centre. The site is highly developed and has recently been improved with access roads, escalators, services and landscaped areas and paintings, making it an extremely attractive area in which to live and work.
