Geoff was proud and happy to be invited to contribute to the fourth International Conference on Real Estate Development and Management organised by Ankara University at the Wyndham Hotel in Ankara, Türkiye between 03-05 February, 2025. Geoff made two presentations: ‘An Assessment of the Role of Communities in the Provision of Urban Housing’ and ‘The Role of Land Pooling as a Means of Achieving Equitable and Efficient Urban Land Development’. His colleague Cemre Sahinkaya made a presentation on ‘Tracing Urban Regeneration and Liveability in Ankara through Individual Narratives’. Geoff and Cemre were honoured to meet his great friend Professor Rusen Keles who made a keynote presentation to the conference on the climate crisis and the role of Türkiye. During the visit to Ankara, Geoff also met with his old friend Prof. Bülent Tokman. Besides, Mr Orhan Paçacı, who worked for Geoff in Ankara in the 1970s as a student assistant, met him after 50 years and had a nice chat.
